Term 2 Week 4 Paekakariki flood

WALT: use prior knowledge when making text-to-text connections Hi readers this is week 4 create task my book is Paekakariki flood its about the flood from. The city its a good journal. their house got flooded it was a giant flood.
Create task 1

Title: Paekakariki flood

  • Ama

  • Anna Mum

  • Man

  • Pukera Bay and Paekakariki

  • House

  • Grandparents house

Problem

Ama and her Mum had to evacuate because of the giant flood their house was flooded 

Com txt: Gus was and all the sudden water came from the hall their Ms May said lets paddle out to the GYM! The principle was maybe talking to her mom they went then then went they got the gym it was flooded they open the gym door but the city was flooded then the caretaker put plunger on the sewer and the flood was gone

Create task 2

This is what to do in a flood :)

  • Listen to the radio for advice and information

  • Turn off the gas and electricity at the mains

  • Take refuge upstairs if possible 

If you have to leave your house 

  • Take your pets with you if you can 

  • Don't go into flood waters alone 

  • Don't try to walk through flood water if the water is above knee level or moving 

  • Wear sturdy shoes 

Have a family survival plan 

  • An escape route 

  • Where to meet if you get separated from each other
